Happy New Year! [2015/2016]

It is new year! It’s a bit scary to think of, but it has already been an entire year since the last time I wrote one of these. A year is 52 weeks – that is 365 days. So, with that in mind, it is now time to look at the year that has ended, and also to have a look at what is to come in this new year – both when it come to my stories and also when it comes to writing events and other news.

Happy New Year!

I wish you a Merry Christmas,
I wish you a Merry Christmas,
I wish you a Merry Christmas,
And a happy new year!

Hi, guys! 2014 is soon no more, and I’d like to take a minute to thank all of toy guys for the year that have been. Well, to be honest I’d planned to do a summary of the year, but I just haven’t had the time to it yet. So yeah, that’ll have to wait to January.

Still, I wanna say that this year has been amazing. Both because I’ve been able to write again, but also cause you’ve been such a big support and always sent me such encouraging, helpful and positive reviews and feedback. It might don’t seem like much, but you guys really are what pushes me to write as much as I do. Thank you so much.

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas, a happy new year, and all the best for the future in general.

I hope to see you all again next year.

6 years of Fanfiction

Category - Writers Word

I really can’t believe what I saw the other day when logging into my Quizilla account. It was only by coincidence that I saw it… I was checking my profile information – stating that I am 15 years, and then I saw it: my date of registration was the 22th of May 2008! This mean that today it’s my SIX years anniversary!

That fact is kinda dull and plain by it’s own, but the reason why I joined Quizilla was because I had just begun reading fanfiction – and stupid me only knew of this site to do so. So yeah, I joined this community of quizzes and stories because of the stories I loved to read and also to become a part of it myself.

So there you have it. If it hadn’t been for Quizilla, I probably wouldn’t have started writing fanfics.

Even though Qz kinda was the birth of my writing – and some of my stories are still there, I decided to start using instead – which you can see if you follow the links to my stories.

I can’t believe it’s been six years already – and I kinda can’t say that I’ve produced enough to make me a productive writer… Oh well, let’s just hope for that to change in the future^^

Happy birthday, Norway

Category - Personal

Happy birthday Norway, and happy birthday to all you Norwegians out there! Today is our national day – the day we got our own constitution and became independent form Sweden! It’s not only the usual celebration of the date that we have each and every year, no, this year its 200 years since it happen!

To those unaware of the tradition, the morning starts with children gathering at their schools and then marching together with a marching band down to town where they gather up to one long parade that walks through the town and ending up on a town square where a speech are being hold. After this, the kids get picked up by their parents and they usually ends up somewhere eating hot-dogs, ice cream and soda.

So, yeah, it’s something that makes you really tired. I myself played with the marching band from I was 8 until it was my graduation year from high school. It was many hours of marching, and you end up having quite sore feet for a couple of days – but it’s so worth it! It’s such a fun day, and it really brings even the smaller communities to life.

So yeah, and here is a picture I took while watching the parade today:

I know I said people usually went to buy ice cream and stuff, but today we decided to go straight home and rather spend the day doing puzzles with granny :3 And as you can see, it turned out rather well:

So there you go^^ I hope you all have had a wonderful day and that you’ll enjoy the rest of it too.

To finish up I’ll put up a video from the celebration – it’s from this year but from 2011, but if you don’t know the way we celebrate – this is still an good example.

May you rest in peace, Chriz.

Yesterday night I got a call from my friend. She brought grave news. Our dear friend and collage had been found dead in his home. He and I might not have had the closest of bonds, but we new each other for many years and he was an important part of my life.

I remember well how we met. I was looking for other that were going to the DesuCon convention, someone that I could sit on the train with. Little did I know that I not only had found a train buddy, but also a friend for life. Cause a short while after adding him on FaceBook I shared PolyStudio’s newest fandub. He commented and wanted to join the group, and soon he was included in the Poly-family. Soon after I met him in real life.

Through the years we have known each other, you’ve always been there if needed. You were a kind heated person that always was willing to help your friends. I have a lot of fond memories from our time together – be it on conventions, celebrating the new year or staying in cabin together for a week in the summers.

Your optimism and enthusiasm will not be forgotten, and neither will you. We will always remember you as one of our best friends and all the good times we had together.

May you rest in peace.

What’s your life span on entertainment?

Category - Challange

Most or all people I know love to be entertained. There are a lot of different way’s to be entertained, but the one that’s most used in our time is videos. So, how much do you watch videos? And with videos I include movies and TV-series. A couple of hours a month? a week? a day? Well, only you know what you watch, you don’t expect me to give you an answer. Personally I rarely watch the TV. Why should I? I got my computer. When it comes to the amount… Well I guess about 2 to 10 hours a day – it really depends on what’s going on and if I’m working on some project or not.

Let’s say that you watch 3 hours a day – that’s not much you say. I mean, It’s only a movie and an about one 40 minutes long episode. Not much at all. But in one week, how much is it? Well, 3*7 = 21 hours – that’s almost a day! And in a month? 3*30 = 90 hours – which is about 4 days. Not such a scary number now is it? But how about adding together the numbers of your whole life?

If you thought I was going to do it for you, well, then you’re about to get disappointed. I will however use myself and my numbers as an example – the numbers are of cause unsure – it’s not like I’ve kept records of every time I watched “Peter Pan” as I grew up, but I do know of the TV shows and such I’ve been watching – which can be a guide in this situation.

Before we start with the numbers I want to divide it into group. Yeah, sure the number we’re after is the number of hours combined, but why not see how they are divided too while we’re at it.

First off we’ll start with the TV-shows:

2 months, 3 weeks, 0 days, 17 hours, and 32 minutes

Next are the anime series I’ve seen. Why not include them in the TV-shows? Well, again because it’s interesting to see – and also because I like to take small breaks in the adding.

3 months, 1 week, 1 day, 4 hours, and 13 minutes

Movies should have been next, but this is a very unsure category, I mean, how am I to remember all I’ve seen since I was little? So, well, I guess I’ll drop it.

Actually, in my case I would have wanted to add the number of hours used to listen to audio books too – I kinda grew up with 15 hours a week or so. In a year that would mean 780 hours, and if we exclude my first 6 years, the number of hours are 11.700 – which is a little more than:

1 year and 4 months

Added up to the other numbers, my lifetime is now:

1 year, 9 months, 4 week, 1 day, 21 hours, and 45 minutes.

So, how did I find these numbers? Well, I didn’t sit here adding them together all by myself – that would have taken way too long. What I did was to search and plot in the series I’ve seen here, and then I made sure it displaced the right amount of seasons – and then I just let it count.

Why not try it yourself?

And for anime, try to use:

So, after seeing these numbers, what do you feel? Are you starting to add up your own? How does the answer make you feel? Is the number of hours less or greater than you thought?

Personally I don’t feel scared or anything like that. Yes, if the time had been used to something that was good for nothing, well, that would be something, but I feel that when you enjoy something and think of it with a smile on your mouth – that’s time well spent.
