National Novel Writing Month

What is NaNoWriMo?
Well, to put it simple: it’s a worldwide challenge to write a certain number of words – usually 50.000 words, within a month – so yeah, within 28 to 31 days. The event is most often referred to as ‘NaNoWriMo’, but the name is actually: “National Novel Writing Month” – and it kinda tells you what to write. Still, you don’t need to do a novel – I guess it’s just up to yourself what you wanna do.

What’s my relationship with NaNo?
Well, a friend of mine mine told me about it in January 2014, and then I decided to join the next big event – which was CampNaNoWriMo in July 2014. There you chose a goal yourself – mine was on 25.000 words – and I did it. However, in the real November version of NaNo, the word count is set to be 50.000 – and there is nothing you can do with that. So, I tried. AND DID IT!

So yeah, with two of two completed, I’more than ready for another one!

On this page you will find the different NaNoWriMo-events I’ve participated in. If you wanna read more about any of them – then just click the banner^^.

A truly horrible month. I had given myself a lower bar than planned, but even this I had to move down to be able to reach it a all.

This month went pretty great. I had only put the goal on 30.000, but I still tried to go for the 50.000. I know I didn’t make it that far though, but  I still passed my own goal with 10.000.

I did it! I seriously did it! I actually completed NaNoWriMo – and not only my personal goal of 30.000 words, but the main, official one of 50.000 words. I can’t believe it! I feel totally awesome about this.

I’m so proud om myself right now. Normally, all I can write is one chapter of 2-3k each week, which is a total of 12.000 words a month. However, a friend of mine managed to talk me into joining NaNoWriMo – or rather the CampNaNoWriMo. I actually had no hopes to reach my own goal, but I thought that at least could try. I mean, I was going to write anyway.
