WritersChallenge

Hey you guys, here you can find all you need to know about the ‘WritersChallenge’ events. If you have any questions – feel free to send a private message at WinnifredArtemisDub.

What is this ‘WritersChallenge’?
‘WritersChallenge’ is a concept I made to help writers produce a written work in a short time. The inspiration and idea to this was that I personally struggle to continue and to end my stories, but that I always managed to finish my work in a school setting. I figured that this was because of the strict rules of time. At school you had 4 hours – and nothing more. I wanted to try this idea of time and pressure on myself in a private setting, and as I found it helpful, I decided to invite all those interested to join me.

Rules:
I’m not very strict with the rules, but I’d recommend that you try to follow them. The reason for this is that I think of them as guidelines that can challenge you in more than one way.

  • The work has is to be written within a set time.
There are two different types of challenges and both types have their own schedule. The first type of challenge is the ‘24 hours’-challenge during which you have 24 hours to work. The second one is the ‘7 days’-challenge where you have a full week of seven days. In both challenges you are to complete the whole press in the amount of time. This includes the creation of the idea, writing the story/product, and publish it on the internet – which includes posting the link to it in the event on Facebook..
IMPORTANT: You are ONLY allowed to think about the text within the time. So it is not allowed to prepare an idea or plot before the challenge is running.
  • The theme of the event.
Each event has it’s own theme. This might be a word, a sentence or an expression. You are to use this to inspire your work. However, everyone thinks differently so it’s entirely up to you how you choose to use it.
  • There are no limits to either genre, setting or length.
You choose yourself what you want to write. There are no limits to what you can write – everything from fanfiction to a poem or a song to an original story is allowed. There are also no requirement to the language and no minimum or maximum number of words is set.

I hope this explanation helped you understand the concept, but if you still have some questions, do not hesitate to contact me.
